Even after ancient egypt (ie after alexander or even rome) it still produced mythical figures like Euclid, Plotinus, Diophantus, etc. Id say after the fall of rome and islamic incursions did it decline. I dont think there is a fix now cuz of Islam, arab trace admixture, and besides wokenesd would befall on it anyways, but it is saveable
